Abstract

Nanoparticle synthesis using plants is an alternative to conventional physical and chemical methods. In this paper, we demonstrate the synthesis of AuNPs using Lycoris aurea leaf extract. The prepared AuNPs show an average size of 24.1 nm based on TEM characterization. The biosynthesized AuNPs were then applied for electrode surface modification. The modified electrode was successfully used for the electrochemical determination of aspirin. The modified electrode could linearly detect aspirin from 100 μM to 2.6 mM with a limit of detection of 11.3 μM.
