Rising velocity for single bubbles in pure liquids

  • An equation to predict terminal velocities of single bubbles was proposed on the basis of a weighting of dominant forces.

  • The combination of two equations for viscous and inertial motion regimes allows proposing a formulation which is valid for a wide range of bubble sizes.

  • For the region of non-rectilinear path, a correction factor was included as a function of the helix angle for helical trajectories.
