Evaluation of mono and bimetallic catalysts supported on Al2O3-TiO2 in the reaction of hydrodechlorination of 1,2-dichloroethane

  • Monometallic (Pd, Pt, Rh) and bimetallic (PdPt) catalysts supported on a mixed Al2O3-TiO2 material (molar Al/TI=25) were evaluated in the hydrodechlorination of 1,2 dichloroethane.

  • The bimetallic PdPt catalyst supported on Al2O3-TiO2displayed significantly higher activity tan the sample supported on alumina.

  • The PdPt/Al2O3-TiO2 catalyst showed high selectivity towards non chlorinated compounds (80%).

  • The mixed Al2O3-TiO2 supports exhibit potential as catalytic support for the hydrodechlorination reactions.
