Design of a minimally processed juice added with micro and nanocapsules of folic acid and its use as vehicle for ingestion in Wistar rats

  • Micro- and nanocapsules of folic acid were obtained and added in minimally processed pineapple juice.

  • Designed juice maintained its quality during 10 days storage.

  • Designed juice with folic-acid-capsules was used as hydration diet in an experimental model using Wistar rats.

  • Consumption of juice resulted in significant increases in plasma hemoglobin concentration and higher rats'growth.

  • Von Bertalanffy model was evaluated to describe models body weight and length data during rats'growth.
