Effect of Si/Al ratio in deep hydrodesulfurization of Pt/Al-MCM41 catalysts

  • Pt catalysts supported on Al-modified MCM-41 materials were synthesized with Si/Al ratios = 10, 25 and 40 without significant textural and structural modifications.

  • Hydrodesulfurization Activities for Dibenzothiophene and 4,6 Dimethyldibenzothiophene were improved as a result of MCM-41 modification by Al for Pt catalysts.

  • It was found that acidity and textural properties for the carrier contributed significantly to improve the catalytic properties for Pt catalysts supported on AlMCM-41 materials.
