A dynamic model for spill and evaporation of volatile liquids applicable to industrial-type risk assessment

  • The model solution is stable due to its representation as a set of ordinary differential equations.

  • The dynamic model proposed here reproduces satisfactorily the experimental evaporation rates.

  • In contrast to other models, the model considers the transient responses of the thermo-physical properties of matter.

  • This model could be used to estimate the initial emission rate in air pollutant dispersion models.

  • The model is simple and easily implemented in the consequence analysis of industrial risk assessments.
