  • A bioprocess based on the application of postharvest abiotic stresses in plants is proposed for the productions of phenolic compounds.

  • Phenolic compounds produced in the stressed-plant tissue have commercial applications in the pharmaceutical, cosmeceutical, dietary supplements, and food industries.

  • The stressed plant tissue can be subjected to downstream processing to recover and purify high value antioxidant phenolic compounds.
