The dynamics of a slurry CSTR are described by means of the analytical solution of an initial and boundary-value problem for the concentration in the fluid and dispersed phases.

Nonlinear reaction kinetics is considered and consequently the solutions are implicit and the evaluation requires an iterative solution scheme.
It is shown that identical form of the formal solution can be achieved by different approaches.
The available numerical results are as good as the ones obtained using finite difference schemes.
