EFFECT OF INERT SITES IN CO+O2 on Pt(100) REACTION ON Pt(100) SURFACE BY DINAMIC Monte Carlo simulation

  • The catalytic reaction of CO+O2 over the surface of Pt(100) was studied by a dynamic Monte Carlo method.

  • Kinetic oscillations and spatial patterns were obtained during the simulations.

  • These phenomena were affected by the presence of inhert sites over the surface.

  • With 15% of inhert sites, both oscillations and patterns are destroyed.

  • The processes that were affected by the presence of inhert sites are O2 adsorption, diffusion and adsorbet CO nucleation.
