The catalytic reaction of CO+O2 over the surface of Pt(100) was studied by a dynamic Monte Carlo method.

Kinetic oscillations and spatial patterns were obtained during the simulations.

These phenomena were affected by the presence of inhert sites over the surface.

With 15% of inhert sites, both oscillations and patterns are destroyed.

The processes that were affected by the presence of inhert sites are O2 adsorption, diffusion and adsorbet CO nucleation.
